Off to School

Today was the big day. The kiddos started preschool. Gabriel and Gatlin went first. They are going all day to help with their autism. Early intervention is key. This is the first year that this preschool is having an all day class. Their teacher, Mrs. Shields, has been teaching special education for 17 years and is a wonderful person. We are really hoping to see some improvements in the boys.
( I was singing "The Wheels on the Bus" to get Gabriel to look at the camera. He is doing the sign for the doors on the bus go open and shut. He was concentrating really hard, can't you tell?)
(Watching an airplane cross the sky.) (Gatlin was really sad to find out that blanket couldn't go with him.) (He eventually forgot about blanket.)
Gabriel smiled and jumped up and down when he saw the bus pull up. He climbed right in. Gatlin followed but turned around to look at me one last time. I smiled and told him that it was ok. He turned back around and walked to his seat. After waving goodbye, I went inside to play with Kaia all alone. All morning, she kept asking when it was her turn to go and when she was going to get to see, Miss. Kaminsky (her teacher). To keep her mind off of it, we played Memory and Elefun. Then, we watch her favorite show, Olivia, for the last hour before it was time for lunch. I got her all ready and then she said, "Is is time to take my picuture? I want to go like this *holding her arms out* and say 'cheese'! Come on mom, let's go." She did just that.
(Cheese!)
She was...
...so...
...EXCITED!
(Oh Kaia, you are growing up too fast.)
I have to admit it was really quite and a bit lonely for the 3 and 1/2 hours that I had to myself. I cleaned the whole house in about an hour and didn't know what to do with the rest of my time. I have been battling a sinus infection so, I decided to just take it easy today. Don't worry though, I have already started a list of projects to work on during this precious time.
