About a month ago, our occupational therapist ordered the boys some weighed vests to help with their sensory processing dysfunction. (to learn more about that click here) The boys are under stimulated and are what we call "sensory seekers". They are constantly looking for stimulation by running, jumping, touching, etc. The vest is used as a deep pressure therapy. This helps the boys to self-calm and relax so that sensory stimulus can be processed. The vest also provides them with unconscious information from the muscles and joints. We have used them at their O.T. visits and it really seems to help. We notice that they slow down and don't run as much and it is easier to keep their attention. Matt had never seen their behavior with one on. He was really impressed. They stood still for about 5 minutes and let me take tons of pictures of them. Here are my favorites: Matt laughed and said they look like Walgreens workers. (He used to work there.) I think they look pretty cute!
The boys look so cute in their Walgreens vests! Those are really neat. So do you use them at home too? I'm glad you were finally able to get a few cute pictures of them. Especially the one with Gat reading the ads. Haha!
