This past Friday I went up to the boy's school for a little visit. The nurse called to let me know that Gabriel seemed a bit under the weather. We were all feeling that way so it was no real surprise to me. When I got there, he was sitting on Mrs. Elizabeth's lap just soaking up all the attention that she was giving him. (He is our cuddle bug) He was not running a fever and seemed fine just more tired than usual. I decided just to hang out and spend some time up at the school. We went to the gym so the kiddos could ride on scooters to get their wiggles out. We ran into Gatlin's class when we got in there. They were lining up to go back to their classroom. Gatlin noticed me, made eye contact, smiled, grabbed my hand, and began to pull me toward the door. I talked to him and told him that I needed to stay with Gabriel because he wasn't feeling well. He didn't care. He held onto my hand and kept tugging. I walked with him back to his room where we sat on the carpet to hear a story. He made sure I sat down. I didn't tell Gabriel's teacher that I was going with Gatlin so I wanted to let them know. I went to leave and Gatlin started to cry. He kept pulling on me to sit down. I couldn't believe it. He has never done anything like this before. I have often wondered if my boys even know who I am. Well, today Gatlin answered that question for me. I reassured him that I would be right back. I quickly slipped out of the room and had to fight back my tears of joy so I could let Gabriel's teacher know where I would be. This was such a special moment for me that I just needed to write it down. I find myself often saying, "I never thought this day would come" when it come to our boys. This was definitely one of those days.
