100!

It was the 100th day of school today for our little kindergartner.  She has been looking forward to this day since the beginning.  She was most excited to meet Zero the Hero. He came that morning had breakfast with all the kids, danced with them, and then he flew back home!  She seemed to be really impressed with him.  I wasn't able to come up until lunch time.  I had to get the boys off to school first.  When I arrived the school was on a lock down.  Apparently, the police went to arrest a man at his house He grabbed a gun and took off running.  He started to head for the school so to be safe they locked it down until the police were able to catch the guy.  The elementary school is fairly new and there isn't much around it but fields/woods.  They caught the guy not too far from the school.  The faculty and staff handled it very well and I was impressed with how they kept everyone safe.  After the drama had cleared, they let me in the school and we had lunch together.  I stayed for the rest of the day and helped out with the centers in her class.  Kaia is doing really well in school and has learned so much.  She still struggles with her social skills and continues speech therapy to help with her language barriers.  She is doing really well academically and seems to be well-loved by everyone.  I have noticed such a growth in her these last 100 days.

This is her "Gromit Face" from the show "Wallace and Gromit".  She is also sporting her 100th day of school crown that she quickly colored in one of her centers. (She usually colors a little less messy.)
