Safety shouldn't always be first...
...when I lock myself out of the house while my children are inside. Yeah, I did that today. So, here's the story. I walked out back to spray paint a shelf. Out of habit, I shut the back door. I rarely use this door and forgot that it locks automatically. After I was finished I realized that I was locked out. I ran to the front door hoping that it would be open. Nope, being the super, paranoid, stay-at-home mommy that I am; I had locked it. (I always keep my doors locked.) I started to panic and then I remembered that the office of our complex had extra keys...right? I ran down there and luckily they did. Whew, problem solved and nobody called the police on me for being irresponsible.

I know how you feel! It is so scary when you can't get to your children and you don't know what they are getting into. When we lived in Jackson I did it so many times, because we had these crazy locks. I had to climb in the window quite a few times. Thank Goodness now Cooper can unlock the door by himself!!
oh gosh. i would have been freaking out. i thought you were going to end the story with a broken window.
