...Mama has had some time to play. The kids have just started their 3rd week of preschool. They love it and we have already started to see some improvement in the boys! YAY! The first week I took it easy because I wasn't feeling all that great. But by the second week of school, I decided that I needed to stop being so lazy and make better use of my time. One evening while I was checking blogs, I learned, from Dana at Made, that September is National Sewing Month. (Thanks to President Ronald Reagan for declaring it that.) She posted on her blog encouraging everyone to sew this month to celebrate it. Well, I hate to admit, but I am one of those people that tend to not finish a project. I am trying really hard to change that. I decided this month to first, complete unfinished projects and second, start a new one and finish it before the end of the month. Yikes! I am really challenging myself. Today, I am happy to announce that I have already finished 2 unfinished projects (I only have one more to go for the unfinished) and I am prepping myself to start and finish Kaia's Halloween costume before the end of the month. It sounds crazy and a bit much but I think I can do it! The following pics are for my Mama, I owe her a huge thanks for teaching and inspiring me to sew, and my Gramma for giving my sewing machine and teaching my Mama to sew. I love them both.
This is the first thing that I have ever made without any help. I surprised myself. I knew more about sewing than I thought.
I embellished this shirt with fabric Yo-Yos.
