We are now down to 11 days until our big move and the goodbyes have begun. Yesterday, was the last day that we were able to meet with the boy's developmental specialist, Sarah. She is one of the many special people that have come into our lives and have been able to help make sense of this whole autism thing. She would make home visits a couple of times a month. She taught me a lot. She helped me to stay positive and was encouraging. I will be forever grateful to her. It was hard to say goodbye and I am even sadder that I forgot to take a picture of her with the boys. Darn it! She made a huge impact on us and we will never forget that.
Last night, we met up with our Ohio/Michigan native friends, James and Stephanie. They were some of the first people that we met when we moved here. We instantly clicked. They moved to Columbus about a year later but that didn't affect our friendship. No matter how long it had been since we had seen them, we would always pick up right where we left off. Also, Stephanie's parents, Brother and Sister Rice, were still in our ward and basically adopted Matt and I as their kids. We spent the last 2 Christmas Eves over at their house where we would meet up with James and Steph and enjoy some home-made tamales. Those were some good times. We are really going to miss them but we refuse to say goodbye. Instead, it is until we meet again.

Oh man, it's SO hard to say goodbye--that's for sure! We've started doing ours too...ugh. It's so nice, though, that we have modern technology and so many easy ways to keep in touch now!
Goodbyes were so hard. Leaving Ohio will always be one of the most bitter sweet memories for our family. We sure loved it there because of all of the great friends we made. Best of luck in Texas! We are so excited for you guys! Your house there is beautiful!
Leaving is always hard especially when you have been somewhere so long. The bright side though is that you get to start all over again meeting new wonderful people! Plus with blogs and such it is so easy to keep in touch with everyone, but you will still always miss those who you became close with.
Congratulations to all! Sarah, Sue Britt said you might be interested
in an autism link I found.
