Secret Santa

This past Saturday night Matt and I were watching a movie and we heard a knock on our front door. We looked at each other puzzled and surprised because we rarely have visitors unannounced. Matt opened the door to only find a box. There was an envelope attached to the top that read: To the boys of and the number of our address (For safety reasons, I would rather not post it on here) Puzzled yet again, Matt opened the box and I opened the envelope. There was a note inside that read: I bought these jackets last year for my grandsons not thinking that they would grow two sizes in a year. I heard that you had twin boys and thought that maybe you could use them. If not, I figured that you could find someone else that could. There was no name at the end of the letter. I looked at Matt completely shocked and told him that I was just looking at winter jackets for the boys but was hesitate to buy them one for two reasons: this is most likely our last winter (Matt has applied to residency programs in much warmer climate), and they are expensive and I just couldn't justify spending that much money on snow jackets for just a few months. I decided I would just layer the boys up. I couldn't believe the kindness of this secret Santa's heart. I asked Matt if he saw who it was and he said that he just saw a silver SUV drive away. He said they went pretty fast and he couldn't really see much.

Dear sweet silver SUV owner,
THANK YOU so much for thinking of us and blessing us with these wonderful jackets! My boys will definitely use them. If we do move to warmer climates I will be sure to give these jackets to someone else that could use them. I don't know who you are and probably never will but I just had to say thank you. Hopefully, you read my blog and see this. Thank you, thank you!

Ok, I just got a little teary eyed reading this.

Wished we lived closer so I could drop things off at your house.

Oh and by the way, we get lots of Dr.'s and their families here doing their residencies. Tell Matt to look in the Bay Area. UCSF, Kaiser, Stanford?
