Just Call Me Charlie.

For the past year or so Kaia has been a huge fan of the book series/television show "Charlie and Lola". It is the story of a little British girl, Lola, and her older brother, Charlie. Lola is a pretty unique little girl with a huge imagination. The books are so fun to read and the show is really entertaining. I love watching it with her. For her 2nd birthday, we bought her one of the DVDs and now we rent them from the library. Everyday for quiet time, she usually picks Charlie and Lola to watch. I find Kaia quoting the movie while she watches it and when she is playing she will act out scenes complete with the british accent. It is really quite cute to hear. A few months ago, if I would be talking on the phone or somewhere in the house she wasn't she would call out, "Charlie, where are you?" over and over. I wasn't sure why she kept saying it until I watched the episode where Lola gets lost and is trying to find Charlie. It was then, that I realized she was mocking her and referring to me as Charlie. For the past couple of days, Kaia has been wanting to only drink milk and will only drink it out of a pink cup. Today after like her 4th glass of it, I told her no. I, then, offered her a drink of water. She got mad and stormed off. I brushed it off and didn't really think anything of it. A little while later, she came back asking for some milk. I handed her the pink cup with water. She looked at it and then walked to the fridge and said, "No, I want milk please, Charlie." That's when it hit me. In the show Lola LOVES pink (strawberry) milk. Again, Kaia was mocking Lola wanting milk in a pink cup (since we don't have pink colored milk) and once again I was Charlie. I guess she could be calling me worse things although, I have considered changing my name.Oh and P.S. Matt told me tonight that I need to buy some Nesquick in the strawberry flavor so that she could have her pink milk.
