Matt's 26th Birthday EXTRAVAGANZA!
This post is a little past due. But life for me has gotten even busier. I was just called to be an Y.W. adviser. I have been busy with meetings and planning lessons, so here it is. Matt gets so excited for his birthday each year. He usually starts talking about it weeks before. Since his birthday fell on a Monday this year, it was November 10th, he wanted to have a birthday weekend. So, last Saturday we thought it would be fun to invite some friends over for cake, ice cream, and of course Rock Band. Matt had made plans with his friend to watch the LSU game that afternoon. So we planned for everyone to come over around 7:00. While Matt was gone I thought it would be fun to decorate the house and surprise him when he came home. It was fun and the kids loved following me around while I did it. Quick story: I was climbing on a chair to put a streamer above the entertainment center. I stood on the chair and then had to kneel on the entertainment center. Well Kaia thought it would be fun to follow me. As I was stepping back onto the chair I stepped on her and we both almost fell. YIKES! Seriously I almost twisted my ankle. Oh the joy of children right? Anyway, so when Matt came home I had the kids fed, bathed, and we were waiting for him when he walked in. He opened the door and I said, "Happy Birthday!"
He was totally not expecting the decorations so it was kind of fun. Our friends all showed up and we really had a great time. We all took turns at Rock Band and we played pass the baby with Sharlie and Charlotte. So fun, I miss my babies being little like that. Matt wanted an ice cream cake so we had a peanut butter and chocolate one. YUM!
And yes, I put 26 candles on the cake. Jason and Beegh enjoying the party. LOL
Here is the whole crew: (Back row: Randee and Sharlie, Laura, Me, Steph, Brian and Ryker, and Amy. Front Row: Brandon a.k.a Beegh, Adam and Charlotte, Matt, and Jason.
We really had a great night. Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate! Matt wouldn't let me give him his gift until his actual birthday. For anyone who knows Matt, already knows he is just a big kid. So for his birthday I bought him the 11th season on The Simpsons. He was really surprised and excited. He has every season but he didn't realize another was released. And it was in the shape of Krusty the Clown's head which made it even better.
LOL It is hard to believe the man is as smart as he is. Oh you can't help but love him! Then our friend Amanda came over and watched the kids for us while we went out to eat. Matt decided on Applebees and we met up with our friends again.
It was a lot of fun. Ryker was cracking me up. He was giving puppy dog kisses. He basically licks your face. Then he was trying to convince his dad to give him Moutain Dew and Brian told him that it was pee-pee. LOL Then he was taking food from everyone's plate.
LOL I love this kid. He is a cutie and mine and Kaia's buddy. We had a really fun night. Matt even got a free birthday sundae. Happy Birthday Matt! I hope it was a good one for you!
