Our Halloween Day!

Our day started out like any other, we had breakfast, told Daddy goodbye, and we got dressed for the day. Then I decided I had better start some laundry before it took over the house. Yikes! It was a scary sight. Then after lunch and quiet time I thought it would be fun for me and Kaia to make some Halloween sugar cookies! I have the best recipe and I have been dying to make it. So I bought cat, ghost, and pumpkin cookie cutters. Kaia was in a mood today so she was running around all redneck like in just a diaper but I still insisted that she wear an apron. She had to look like the part right? I pulled up her chair and began rolling the dough. I let her pick out which cutter she wanted and of course she picked the "tat" (cat, her favorite animal). I showed her how to press it into the dough just once and that was all the lesson she needed. For being only 2 1/2 she did a really good job! And she didn't even try to eat the dough! I was so excited because now I know she is ready for playdough. (We'll have to pass that onto Santa) While Kaia and I were having a blast the boys were not having so much fun. Here, these pictures explain it all. I am not sure why they were crying maybe because they could smell the cookies and wanted some. Which wouldn't surprise me because they seriously could eat all day long. And I am not exaggerating that at all. Anyway, I hurried and put on the great and wonderful "Yo Gabba Gabba" so they were at least quiet while I cleaned up. A few hours later it was time to go trick or treating! YAY!! Matt got home early so we bathed the kids, dressed them, and decided to go out to eat. We went to Burger King. While we waited for Matt to get the food I let the kids play. We love coming here not really for the food but the playground. The kids love it. A few chicken nuggets, some hamburgers, and a bunch of fries later it was time to go. We decided to go to a friend's neighborhood. Every year they have a small party and we all take the kids trick-or-treating. Gabriel went as a mouse, Kaia a cat, and Gatlin was also a mouse. Please excuse the messy whiskers it is not the easiest thing drawing them on wiggly little boys. You see I didn't even attempt to put them on Kaia. We took the kids to a few houses. Kaia had a lot of fun walking but she wouldn't say trick-or-treat. She just stared at the people. LOL Oh well maybe next year? One guy was giving out glow sticks and that was the highlight of our night. Kaia loved it and so did the boys. It was such a fun night. I really do love Halloween. It is a night of pretending which I love. I really look forward to this holiday each year.
