Ok so yeah this vacation was a few weeks ago and I just a little slow when it comes to posting things. I can't help it when I finally finish my daily "To Do..." list all I want to do is lay in bed a relax for awhile but I decided that I had better do it or Matt's summer semester would be over and we would be taking a different break. We decided to head down to my Aunt Jane and Uncle Craig's house again for a little R&R. They actually live in Waldorf, Maryland which is about 20 minutes outside of D.C. The past few times we have gone there it has been way too cold to go and tour the city, but this time it was warmer so we decided to take advantage of that. We left at 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning it was clear blue skies, sunny, with a gentle breeze...perfect! Our first stop was the Washington Monument.
We would have went inside but yeah there was TONS of people and my stretch limo of a stroller doesn't really do that well in those conditions. And I really didn't want to run over anyone toes. Seeing it and taking a picture was enough for us. And so our adventure continued. We then made our way to the W.W.II Memorial.

This was really beautiful and really special for me to see. Most of you don't know but I come from a very large military family. My Grandpa is a three war veteran he fought in Vietnam, The Korean War, and World War II. My father served in the Navy for a few years and is also a veteran of Vietam. My Uncle Craig just retired from the Navy 3 years ago and is a veteran of Desert Storm and Iraqi Freedom, my sister is currently serving in the Navy, and my two older brothers are serving in the Army. All 3 of them are veterans of Iraqi Freedom. Whew, that was a lot of information. So it was very nice and touching to see all the memorials and tributes to the soldiers who defended and continue to defend our country.
After that we headed over to the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, and of course the White House. We took a little break outside of the White House where Matt started snapping pics of me and Kaia.
Then we had some lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe and our last stop for the day was the Navy Memorial. By that time everyone was tired and ready to head home and take it easy.
I had to take some pics of my babies when we went to leave poor Gatlin! He was beat.
Gabriel...I love my little chunkie mini-Matt. He was so tired but he is too stinkin' nosy that he wouldn't close his eyes.
And Kaia well, her hair says it all. She LOVED running along the side of us. Luckily we had enough people to keep up with her. She probably had the most fun. Matt got quite the workout that day. Hehehe, I asked him to push the stroller. My few trips to the zoo has taught me never to volunteer. Kaia weighs 34 pounds, Gabriel weighs 25 pounds, and Gatlin weighs 24 pounds. The stroller alone weighs 60. Yeah, you do the math. Not the easiest thing to do. But I manage some how. Matt and my cousin Justin took turns that day.

And I totally loved the time I had with my aunt and Amber (I LOVE my cousin!) It is always nice to get away. I am sure we will head their way again soon.
